So Many Questions About Drones

So Many Questions

Working with young learners in our drone club is equally inspiring. Teaching kids the fundamentals of coding, engineering, and flight through drones is a powerful way to bring STEM to life. I’ve watched students light up during competitions and projects as they realize they’re solving real-world problems. These moments aren’t just about winning; they’re about showing them that they’re capable of creating, innovating, and excelling in ways they might not have imagined. It’s a privilege to see how these skills open their minds to futures in aerospace, robotics, and technology-driven industries.

Drone Camp was a soaring success! Our Drone Flight School brought together curious, creative, and tech-savvy youth for a hands-on experience that blended fun with real-world skills. Over the course of the camp, students learned to safely pilot drones, complete flight challenges, and explore career pathways in this fast-growing industry. More than just flight time, the camp sparked confidence, teamwork, and innovation—proving that when you give young minds access to the right tools and support, they take off. We’re proud to be building the next generation of drone pilots and problem-solvers.

Ready for Takeoff? Let’s Find Out.

Testing isn’t just some bureaucratic hoop to jump through, it's the proof that you actually know what you’re doing. Whether you’re learning to fly drones or deploying tech that matters, testing checks your skills under real conditions, exposes the weak spots before they become expensive problems, and gives you the confidence to operate without crossing your fingers. It separates the “I think I can” from the “I know I can,” ensuring that when it’s time to perform, you’re not gambling you’re ready. It’s the difference between hoping for the best and being prepared for the worst — and in fields where failure can cost real money or real safety, that preparation isn’t optional. It’s what turns learning into mastery and ambition into actual capability.

Drone Flight School is built on one simple idea: the sky should be open to everyone. Whether you’re a curious kid, a competitive teen, a parent flying for the first time, a first responder, or an adult chasing a new career, there’s a program designed to meet you where you are. From beginner STEM courses and hands-on flight camps to FAA Part 107 test prep, racing leagues, and professional training, we make learning to fly accessible, exciting, and real-world relevant. No gatekeeping, no jargon walls—just clear pathways from your first takeoff to confident, safe, purpose-driven flight.

The DFS Drone Soccer League is set to launch a high-energy, high-tech twist on traditional team sports, bringing the thrill of competitive drone piloting to our community. Imagine players navigating flying drones inside protective spheres, battling mid-air to score goals in a fast-paced arena—equal parts soccer match and aerial dogfight. It’s hands-on STEM education disguised as pure adrenaline, giving kids and adults alike a chance to build, program, and pilot their own drones while working as a team. The league will ignite local interest in cutting-edge technology, create new pathways for skill development, and offer families an electrifying new reason to cheer on the sidelines—marking a bold step forward for innovation and community fun.

This summer’s (2025) STEM camp in the village of Unalakleet, Alaska, offered an unforgettable week of hands-on learning and exploration for local youth, with students ranging in age from 6 to 14. Among the many exciting classes, the drone course quickly became a crowd favorite. Taught by Jason Allen, the class introduced students to the basics of drone technology, including flight dynamics, real-world applications, and even simple coding. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the students were contagious, and it was inspiring to watch them engage so eagerly with new tools and ideas. The camp also included lessons in fish anatomy, the importance of clean drinking water
