Looking Ahead to 2026 – A Year of Growth, Flight, and Community Impact

2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year at Drone Flight School. We’re not just teaching people how to fly drones — we’re building pathways to careers, creativity, and community connection. With new classes, stronger partnerships, and exciting new programs, this year we’re taking innovation to a whole new altitude.

We’re launching a full lineup of adult drone classes for hobbyists, professionals, and lifelong learners ready to explore the skies. Whether you’re just getting started or working toward your FAA Part 107 certification, our courses make it easy to learn, practice, and succeed. With hands-on training, guided instruction, and real-world applications, we’ll help adults build confidence and skill — from first flight to commercial operation.

Forget the golf course — in 2026, your next corporate retreat can actually take flight. We’re introducing corporate drone experiences that combine challenge, creativity, and collaboration. Teams will learn to fly, complete flight missions, and compete in fun aerial challenges that build communication and problem-solving skills. These programs are designed to inspire innovation, strengthen teamwork, and help organizations embrace emerging technology in a memorable, hands-on way.

We’re expanding our youth programs in a big way. In 2026, Drone Flight School will host two full drone camps, plus more after-school and weekend classes for students across Central Kentucky. These hands-on experiences go far beyond just flying — they use flight as a foundation for STEM learning, teamwork, and problem-solving. Students will dive into coding, engineering, and creative design through real-world challenges that make science and technology come alive. Whether they’re programming flight paths, designing drone accessories, or competing in friendly flight missions, every activity is designed to spark curiosity and confidence. By blending technical skill-building with leadership and collaboration, we’re preparing the next generation of innovators to see the sky not as a limit, but as a starting point.

Our “Futures in Flight” partnership with Fayette County Public Schools continues to grow, giving students a hands-on introduction to drones, robotics, and flight technology. Through this initiative, we’re helping young people see how aviation and STEM connect to real-world careers — from engineering and cinematography to agriculture and data science. Together, we’re shaping the next generation of innovators and drone pilots.

Drone Soccer & Drone Racing: Ready for Launch

2026 is also the year we’ll secure full funding for our Drone Soccer program, bringing this fast-paced, team-based sport to our community. Drone Soccer combines the excitement of competition with the principles of flight, coding, and teamwork — it’s STEM with a serious adrenaline boost.

We’re also proud to announce that Woodford County Schools will launch their own Drone Racing Team, giving students the chance to compete, innovate, and represent their schools in one of the fastest-growing tech sports in the world. These programs will not only spark excitement — they’ll open doors to new career and educational opportunities in aviation and engineering.

Our partnerships with the Thorn Hill Education Center and the Paul Sawyier Public Library are helping strengthen Family Literacy and lifelong learning across our region. Together, we’re creating hands-on experiences that bring families together around drones, technology, and creative problem-solving. These programs aren’t just about flying — they’re about building confidence, curiosity, and connection. Parents and children learn side-by-side, discovering how drones can be powerful tools for exploring science, math, and technology in fun, approachable ways. From coding simple flight paths to understanding how drones are used in real-world careers, we’re showing families that STEM skills can open doors at any stage of life. By making learning engaging, accessible, and community-centered, we’re helping to build a stronger, more tech-ready future for everyone.

FAA Part 107 Certification & Professional Growth

We’re continuing to support local professionals and entrepreneurs with comprehensive FAA Part 107 certification courses — the key to unlocking commercial drone operations. Whether you’re a real estate agent capturing aerial listings, a photographer expanding your creative toolkit, a public safety officer improving situational awareness, or a construction professional managing job sites from above, Drone Flight School provides the knowledge and confidence you need to fly legally and effectively.

Our courses go beyond just test prep. We break down FAA regulations in plain language, walk you through real-world flight scenarios, and offer practical training that bridges theory with hands-on experience. Students learn how to plan safe missions, interpret airspace maps, manage risk, and use drones as powerful business tools. By the time you earn your Part 107 certification, you’ll have more than a license — you’ll have a competitive edge in a fast-growing industry that rewards skill, safety, and innovation.

Building the Future, Together

Every new program, partnership, and class we launch in 2026 is about more than flight — it’s about building futures. By connecting technology, education, and community, Drone Flight School is helping people of all ages discover what’s possible when curiosity takes wing.

Because the future of flight isn’t somewhere out there — it’s right here, taking off in our community.
