At Drone Flight School, our mission is to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and ethical practices needed to operate drones safely, confidently, and effectively across a wide range of environments. Through immersive, hands-on training and real-world applications, we teach aviation safety, airspace awareness, environmental responsibility, and the evolving role of drones in modern society. Our programs are accessible to students, educators, and adults alike, combining technical instruction with creative problem-solving. Participants explore how drones are transforming industries such as agriculture, infrastructure, emergency response, environmental monitoring, and the creative arts. By building a diverse and inclusive community of responsible drone operators, we’re not just teaching flight—we’re helping shape the next generation of innovators and leaders for a safer, more connected, and sustainable future.

At Drone Flight School, we believe the future isn’t just coming — it’s taking off. Our mission is simple: help students, educators, and professionals turn flight into a future. Whether you’re exploring drone technology for the first time or preparing for FAA certification, our programs are designed to take you from beginner to confident pilot.

Our Philosophy: Where STEM Takes Flight

Drones are more than technology — they’re a launchpad for innovation. At Drone Flight School, we use drones as a bridge between science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and real-world creativity and problem solving. Our approach is built on exploration, collaboration, and confidence.

We teach flight — but we also teach focus, responsibility, and vision.

The Future of this Program

For adults transitioning from the military or other jobs, we will focus on helping them transfer their existing skills into the booming drone industry. We will work with veterans who bring so much discipline, focus, and technical know-how to the table, and it’s rewarding to help them channel those strengths into certifications and practical expertise. Whether it’s for roles in public safety, construction, or logistics, we’ll not just teach them how to fly drones—we’ll equip them to build successful futures. Along the way, we will provide mentorship, resume workshops, and job connections because we know how vital that support can be during a career change.

The Franklin Center for Innovation, the parent non-profit of the Drone Flight School, plays a vital role in keeping our programs accessible and community-driven. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, every dollar we receive goes directly back into education, hands-on learning, and expanding opportunities for students of all ages—not into profits. This structure not only ensures transparency and mission-focused growth, but it also allows us to accept donations that may be tax-deductible, giving supporters a financial incentive to invest in the future of innovation and education. (Please consult with your accountant or tax professional to learn more about how charitable contributions may benefit you.)
