In general, using drones for hunting is prohibited or severely restricted in many states, with 45 out of 50 states having some type of rule on the books. Drones cannot be used to locate, drive, or shine light on wildlife for hunting, and using them to harass wildlife is also illegal. While some states allow drone use for deer recovery after a shot, others strictly prohibit it.
