The Drone Legends STEM Fundamentals class at Thorn Hill Education Center is off to a fantastic start, with students fully engaged in hands-on drone exploration. Our Monday class (2:00–4:00 PM) has 11 students, while the Tuesday class (4:30–6:30 PM) has 7 students, and both groups are having a blast while developing critical STEM skills. Through interactive lessons and guided practice, students are learning the fundamentals of drone operation, block coding, and problem-solving in an exciting and supportive environment.

Beyond class time, we offer open study hours from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing students to refine their skills, practice coding, and explore drone technology at their own pace. In addition, our Wednesday class (1:00–3:00 PM) is focused on FAA Part 107 preparation, helping students take the next step toward becoming certified drone pilots. This course is designed to build their understanding of aviation regulations, airspace classifications, and real-world drone applications, setting them up for success in future careers.

In Franklin County Schools, students are experiencing the Drone Legends Egyptian Expedition course, which transports them into a virtual world where they complete block code missions to explore ancient civilizations. This immersive learning experience not only strengthens their coding abilities but also deepens their understanding of history, geography, and problem-solving strategies. By integrating drone technology with an engaging narrative, students stay motivated and excited to learn.

Expanding our impact, we have also coordinated with Woodford County High School to deliver the Drone Legends FPV Initiator course. This program introduces students to first-person view (FPV) drone racing, combining technical skills with fast-paced piloting challenges. As we continue growing, we’re thrilled to see students across multiple schools embracing drone technology, enhancing their STEM education, and preparing for future opportunities in aviation, robotics, and beyond.
