Whether you're training for your Part 107, racing drones, or just curious about UAVs, the club is a great place to connect, learn, and take your drone skills to new heights.
In addition to the monthly club meetings, Drone Flight School also offers open study every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a dedicated time for students to drop in, work on their drone certifications, get help with FAA Part 107 prep, or tinker with builds and flight plans. Instructors and mentors are available throughout the day to provide guidance, answer questions, and support learners at every stage of their drone journey.
The Drone Club meetings will be help at Thorn Hill Education Center, located at 700 Leslie Avenue in Frankfort, Kentucky. The gathering will take place in the gymnasium, where participants will have the chance to meet fellow drone enthusiasts, learn about the club's goals, and discuss future activities. This introductory meeting is open to anyone interested in drones, whether you're an experienced pilot or completely new to the field. Come join us for an exciting start to the club and get involved in this growing community!
Filling out the Drone Club interest survey is essential for helping the club understand the interests, goals, and preferences of potential members. The information collected enables organizers to tailor activities, workshops, and learning sessions to best match members’ needs, whether they're beginners interested in basic piloting skills or advanced users keen on technical aspects like programming and aerial photography. It also helps the club gauge the level of resources required, such as the type and number of drones to provide, safety equipment, and suitable locations for flying sessions. By completing the survey, members contribute to shaping a more focused and engaging club experience, ensuring everyone benefits from relevant and enjoyable drone-related activities.
Join our Drone Club on Facebook to connect with fellow drone enthusiasts, pilots, and learners! Whether you're just starting out or an experienced flyer, our community is here to share tips, discuss drone tech, and explore the world of aerial robotics. Get support, stay updated on events, and be part of an exciting group passionate about drones. Come fly with us—join today!
The Drone Flight School’s club offers three skill levels to cater to all drone enthusiasts. Future Flyers is the beginner group, where new pilots learn the fundamentals of drone flying. They focus on safety protocols, basic flight maneuvers, and regulations, gaining essential skills like hover control and safe landings through hands-on training and simulator practice.
Once they master the basics, members move to Rising Wings, the intermediate group. Here, pilots refine their flight techniques and start tackling more complex maneuvers and obstacle courses. They also begin exploring drone photography and videography, enhancing their aerial skills and expanding their knowledge in the world of drones.
For the most experienced pilots, Skyward Blades offers advanced training. This group focuses on specialized skills like autonomous flight programming, mapping techniques, and flying in various conditions. Skyward Blades members work toward Certified Pilot status, take on leadership roles, and engage in high-level projects, solidifying their expertise in professional drone operations.
