Ready-to-run out of the box, the FPV Initiator program immerses students in first-person view (FPV) drone piloting, equipping them with real-world precision flight skills, spatial awareness, and situational control. Through structured training and guided practice, students master essential techniques such as manual flight control, racecourse navigation, and obstacle avoidance. Beyond skill development, FPV Initiator serves as a gateway to competitive drone racing, connecting students with the Unified Scholastic Drone Racing Association (USDRA), the leading organization for student drone racing.
With FPV Initiator, students progress from fundamental FPV operations to high-speed competition, participating in both real-world and virtual races hosted by the USDRA. The program fosters STEM engagement, teamwork, and a competitive spirit while opening doors to future opportunities in drone technology, aeronautics, and robotics. This course helps students explore real-world applications, gain hands-on experience, and discover pathways to high-demand, tech-driven jobs in the rapidly growing drone industry.
The FAA TRUST (The Recreational UAS Safety Test) is a required safety test for all recreational drone pilots in the United States. Mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), TRUST is designed to ensure that hobbyist drone operators understand the basic rules and safety guidelines for flying unmanned aircraft. Anyone flying drones for fun must complete the test before taking to the skies. It’s free, available online through FAA-approved test administrators, and takes only about 30 minutes to complete. Once finished, pilots receive a certificate that they must carry with them during all recreational drone flights.
To apply for the FAA Part 107 course, students must be at least 16 years old by the time of the FAA exam. This means applicants should either already be 15 or have a birthday within the next six months. This age requirement ensures that students will be eligible to take the official FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification test upon completing the course. For older students (15+) and aspiring drone pilots, we offer training for both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) TRUST test and the FAA Part 107 certification. The TRUST (The Recreational Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) Safety Test) is a required exam for recreational drone pilots, ensuring they understand airspace regulations, safety guidelines, and responsible flying practices. Meanwhile, the FAA Part 107 course is a comprehensive program that prepares students to become certified commercial drone pilots, covering topics such as airspace classification, weather effects, FAA regulations, and flight operations. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to legally and safely operate drones for business, research, and commercial applications, opening doors to careers in aerial photography, surveying, inspections, and more.
